The DSR chair was designed in 1950 by Charles & Ray Eames and first presented to the public at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition. DSR stands for Dining height Side chair Rod base. It is also known as Eiffel chair due to its supporting structure which resembles an Eiffel tower.
