The DAR chair was designed in 1950 by Charles & Ray Eames and first presented to the public at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition. DAR stands for Dining height Armchair R-Wire base. It is also known as Eiffel chair due to its supporting structure which resembles an Eiffel tower.
