The DAR chair was designed in 1950 by Charles & Ray Eames and first presented to the public at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition. DAR stands for Dining Height Armchair R-Wire Base. It is also known as Eiffel chair due to its supporting structure which resembles an upside down Eiffel tower.
